Welcome to the Red Lodge Community Church
Worship On-Line Service for Sept. 25, 2022
Worship Leader, Rev Dr. Pam Peterson
If you are joining us in person, the service is at 10:00 a.m.
Mission: “The Red Lodge Community Church, United Church of Christ, welcomes all people to gather for worship, fellowship and to study God’s Word. We seek to be servants of our Lord in the care of all people.”
Land Acknowledgement: We acknowledge, with humility, that the land upon which we worship today was once the land of the Apsaalooke People, those who we now know as the Crow People. Their stewardship and relationship with the land is the stewardship and relationship that we hope to honor with the mission of this church.
Welcome and Announcements
Hymn – “The Sun is On the Sea and Shore” CH #3
Call to Worship
One: Come to this place and time of promise.
Many: We are becoming the house of hope, the field of sunflowers, the vineyard of great caring.
One: Come to a shared commitment to abundance possible for all people.
Many: We are an earthenware jar, to keep safe the tomorrow of children. Our security question is – the word of God, and our password is love.
Prayer of CONFESSION
All: God, I have defaulted to un-hope in my life and I have encouraged un-hoping in others. I have criticized plans before hearing them out and I have turned to family, church, friends, colleagues with my face painted, “we’ve tried that before and it didn’t work.” Together we have laughed at new ideas and circulated only bad news. Plant your promises deep in the field of our lives and forgive us our presuming to define your future. amen
