Mission: Red Lodge Community Church, United Church of Christ, welcomes all people to gather for worship, fellowship and to study God’s Word. We seek to be servants of our Lord in the care of all people.”
Land Acknowledgement: We acknowledge, with humility, that the land upon which we worship today was once the land of the Apsaalooke People, those who we now know as the Crow People. Their stewardship and relationship with the land is the stewardship and relationship that we hope to honor with the mission of this church.

CALL TO WORSHIP (Responsive) One: Christ gives us a new commandment: Many: “Love one another as I have loved you.” One: When we love one another as Christ has loved us, we will live lives full of joy. Many: We will live with God’s love deep in our hearts. One: Let us worship the one who shows us how to love. Many: Let us worship with joy! Alleluia! OPENING HYMN SB #75 You Are Welcome Here INVOCATION Loving God, we remember our eldest Brother’s commandment to love one another as he has loved us. May this time of prayer and reflection remind us of the connection we have through your Divine Spirit. As we meet in this sacred space, may we remember our connection to all humanity. Amen. PRAYER OF TRANSFORMATION (Unison) Jesus, our sibling and friend, we confess that we do not always love one another. Our divisions and disagreements so often prevent us from knowing the joy of meaningful relationships. Even as we seek to follow your example, we forget that we are chosen and appointed by you to bring hope to a weary world. Help us renew our focus and live by your will…that we may follow you with joy in our hearts. Amen. PASSING THE PEACE In Incarnate Diety, Christ, the Anointed One, we are one. Even when we are not living in unity, we are inextricably connected. In passing the peace, we remember that our connection can be union and love; and we choose peace. MESSAGE WITH CHILDREN WORDS OF GRACE (Responsive) Leader: On the night he was betrayed, Jesus said, “Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” Each relationship is a new opportunity to abide in Christ’s love, and a reminder that we can start again. People: We are forgiven. Thanks be to God! PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE THE PRAYER OF OUR SAVIOR (Unison) Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever. Amen. SACRED TEXT: 1 Corinthians 2:14-16; 12:7-14; 14:26 NIV 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:7-14 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 1 Corinthians 14:26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. One: The Word of God for the People of God All: Thanks Be to God SERMON “The Mind of Christ” Laura Ymker SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION This is the supper of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. COMMUNION HYMN SB #53 One Bread, One Body PRAYER OF THE COMMUNITY (Unison) We have been fed, Holy One, by your presence. We have been led, Eternal One, by your light. We are connected, Incarnate One, through your Spirit. May we bask in this union now and forevermore. Amen. Hazel Chamberlain Fund Jenny Still, Beartooth Humane Alliance Steve Hanson, World Central Kitchen Invitation to Generosity Jesus has appointed us to bear fruit that will last. Fruit that will bring love and justice, joy and hope. Bring what you can; together, the gifts we offer can transform lives. OFFERING w/OFFERTORY DOXOLOGY PRAYER OF DEDICATION (Unison) Loving God, we remember that one of Christ’s most important commandments is loving one another. With these gifts, help us show this love in our words and actions, caring for the vulnerable and offering hope in times of despair. Amen. CLOSING HYMN NCH #342 Be Known to Us in Breaking Bread BENEDICTION Body of Christ, you are where the Spirit of God chooses to abide in human flesh. As you leave this place, remember that God has connected you with the needy world around you and even with the people you despise. If one part of our body suffers, every part suffers with it. Go, bear fruit that will last. Let your joyful hearts be signs of hope in these anxious times. Amen. SENDING HYMN NCH #70 We Are One in the Spirit
